Body Butter FAQ's

Body butter has become a wildly popular product over the past few years, so we get lots of questions. Here are a few answer to our most common body butter questions below.

What Is Body Butter?

Body butter is a deeply moisturizing type of lotion that is typically thicker in consistency than lotion. It typically will have naturally derived butters included in the ingredients like cocoa butter, mango butter or shea butter (our personal favorite).

Many butters will have other hydrating ingredients (we add avocado oil to ours) to maximize the impact on dry skin. Butters help protect your skin from moisture loss and help dry, rough skin recover.

Body butter is usually thicker than lotions because of the dense nature of it's base ingredients like shea butter. Although our body butter isn't greasy, it is heavier than lotion, so we recommend using it before bed, but most of our customers feel it's light enough for daily use.

What Ingredients Are In Your Body Butter?

Great question! We use a combination of deeply hydrating, natural ingredients in our body butter which include:

Avocado Oil
Shea Butter
Apricot Kernel Oil
Arrowroot Powder
Safflower Seed Oil

These ingredients combine to create a moisture-locking, creamy and non-greasy butter that will have your skin looking and feeling better than ever! We have a number of butters to choose from, and you can even create your own custom fragrance combination for a scent that's truly unique!

How Long Will It Last?

Each of our 8oz whipped shea body butters will typically last 1-3 months depending on how often and how you use it. If you're using it daily it should last a month, if you're treating your skin every few days it can last months!

Due to it's ultra creamy texture, a little butter goes a long way. Most customers get hooked on our body butter as soon as they try it for the first time. So, if you find yourself slathering up a few times a week we have our 16oz butter that will give you even more moisturizing butter!

How To Use Body Butter

Our butters can be used daily or every few days. Here is how we recommend using our body butter:

1) Start your skin routine with one of our coconut oil based body scrubs in the shower to slough off dead skin.

2) Towel dry, then rub a good amount of butter (you'll know how much to use once you try it) into your skin, covering all the areas you have used your body scrub on.

3) That's it! It will dry relatively quickly and leave you with soft, moisturized skin. If you live in a hot or humid climate we recommend using it at night because it is a very thick cream that isn't ideal for hot summer days in humid climates.
